my Oracle Open World 2011 Schedule

27 Sep

Just days before OOW2011 starts I decided it was about time to finalize my agenda with presentations and the social and network events surrounding this huge event. There are 2 issues with OOW presentations which overlap some of the social events I would like to join. So I’m curious how the fellowship I will be staying with in San Francisco will prioritize their agendas.

In the end I think I succeeded in some way. I tried to focus on architecture and security since it’s in my personal interest area. And regarding technical products tried to find sessions about Oracle products that interact closely with my common area of knowledge (OSB, WLS, SOA) but in which I could learn the most and I am not fully aware of best-practices, roadmaps, etc. As I look to the result these are ADF, EM, ExaLogic and the Enterprise Gateway which I am already familiar with through Vordel. Still I’m curious about roadmaps, positions, long-term relationship with Vordel and finally Oracle’s vision on the software & hardware appliances.

Since it’s my first OOW any comment and advise on this would be great. For instance I don’t have a clue if 30 minutes is enough for traveling from Moscone to the Marriott Marquis or the Westin SF and will probably find out the hard way … as usual.
